Grease Traps and Pre-treatment devices

Pre-treatment devices and grease traps are a requirement of the Western Australian Water Corporation to ensure the safe discharge of wastewater. Trade waste contains oil, grease, chemicals and solids. If a business discharges directly to the sewerage network it can cause blockages and overflows, overload treatment plants and pollute our rivers and beaches.
Most businesses require some form of pre-treatment, such as a grease arrestor or pre-treatment device, which removes some of the grease and solids, before the liquid waste is allowed to enter our sewerage infrastructure. This includes:
• Commercial food outlets
• Education facilities including canteens, science labs and arts departments
• Mechanical workshops
• Hospital and medical centres
• Laundromats
